Are you a fashionista who loves supporting a great cause? Then you’ve got to check out the adorable, sustainable girls brand, VEENA. Designer Jena Murray is using her fashion designing platform to help young girls all around the world through her line of tween girl clothing, VEENA. Not only is her line fashionable and unique, it is giving back in a huge way.

The VEENA brand is all about helping young girls build confidence and self esteem. Murray named her line after her own grandmother, who had a positive impact on her life. Murray has since been inspired by that positive impact to help other young girls learn to love and value themselves for who they are. Through the VEENA WARRIORS project, her team helps girls grow emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. You can read more about the VEENA WARRIORS project here.

VEENA WARRIORS supports young women through art therapy based sessions, which help them become more self aware. Through the VEENA WARRIORS program, girls work on building their self-esteem through creative outlets in a supportive environment. Participants have the opportunity to express themselves through artistic outlets, such as painting, making jewelry and other arts and crafts.

Every clothing design Murray produces, is named after a girl who has touched her life through the VEENA WARRIORS program.  Murray works one-on-one with these girls, and is always inspired by their resilient spirit. As a result, VEENA designs incorporate bright colors and eye-catching patterns that reflect the unique girls who wear them. Not only does VEENA focus on helping young girls, they’re also committed to helping save the planet. All of VEENA’s bottoms, dresses, outerwear, and accessories are certified fair trade, carbon neutral, and organic. VEENA uses eco-friendly dyes and fabrics that are responsibly sourced.  Murray hopes to be able to connect with more girls in several countries around the world (she has currently worked with young girls in Canada as well as India).
